Recycling Agricultural Plastics

Recovering field plastic. Returning it to production.

On-farm drip tape collection turned into recycled PE resin. Servicing TX, NM, AZ, and Southern California.

Lush green farm field under a bright blue sky.

01 · Overview

What we do & how we do it

Drip tape is one of the most widely used — and least recycled — plastics in American agriculture. Thin-wall polyethylene drip tape, common across the Southwest for row crops, vegetables, and orchards, typically lasts just one growing season. That generates millions of pounds of end-of-life material each year, with limited options beyond stockpiling or costly landfilling.

Effectus offers a structured, on-farm collection and mechanical recycling program that converts used drip tape into specification-grade recycled polyethylene resin for new plastic products. We give growers a reliable, responsible end-of-season solution that reduces disposal costs and supports sustainability goals.

Program details

A straightforward, end-of-season program built for growers.

01

Service area

Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Southern California.

02

Minimum pickup

20,000 lbs per pickup, coordinated around your harvest and field-clearing schedule.

03

Program cost

Often at no net cost to you — based on material condition, volume, and location — while avoiding landfill fees and long-term liability.

04

A better end-of-season option

Stockpiling creates fire hazards, pest issues, and growing liability. Burning is restricted or prohibited in most areas. Landfilling adds expense with no return value. Our program turns a disposal challenge into a reusable raw material — while generating verifiable plastic diversion data for your ESG reports and buyer sustainability requirements.

From collection to finished resin

Fully controlled.

01

On-farm pickup

We coordinate scheduled pickups directly from your farm across our service area — no need to haul material to a drop-off site.

02

Grinding & size reduction

Collected drip tape is ground and sized in-house to prepare it for high-yield washing.

03

Multi-stage washing

Friction, float-sink, and specialized wash systems remove embedded soil, organic matter, and contaminants that field plastic typically carries.

04

Drying & pelletizing

Precision drying and pelletizing produce high-quality recycled PE resin ready for re-use in new plastic products.

What we accept

Clean polyethylene drip tape — prepared for pickup.

We accept clean polyethylene (PE) drip tape only, separated from other plastics, in rolled or baled format, and reasonably free of excessive soil, rocks, and debris. Wire, metal fittings, and non-PE components must be removed prior to pickup. For optimal results and highest yield, retrieve tape using a roller or binder system to create dense, compact rolls while minimizing residual moisture and soil. Properly prepared material lowers transport costs and improves recycled resin quality. Heavily soiled, partially mixed, or borderline streams? Contact us. We routinely evaluate challenging agricultural plastics that others decline and will give you a direct, honest assessment.
